SMC IT unit wins 10th place in NICTEA

St. Mary's College is happy to announce you that, the college Information and Communication Technology Unit wins the 10th place in the Provincial level of the National Information and Communication Technology Excellence Award 2009. The college has received funds for the maintenance and purchase of computer equipment.

We wish to give a better challenge in the next year's competition..

28th National IT Conference
CSSL conducted the 28th National Information Technology Conference under the ‎theme “ICT 2.0. Empowering Sri Lanka to a New Social Order” on 11th & 12th of ‎August 2010 at the Hotel Galadari. This annual event is an Industry focused ICT ‎Conference which provides a forum to learn from industry visionaries and to network ‎with peers. ‎
The Platinum Sponsor for the 28th National IT conference was Novell, Silver Sponsor ‎was Mobitel, Strategic partner was ICTA agency in Sri Lanka while the Daily News ‎and Rupavahini Corporation came as the Media Partners. The CSSL wishes to express ‎its sincere gratitude to all these organizations and their management for their ‎sponsorship which contributed towards the success of this event. ‎
The Ceremonial Inauguration was held on 10th evening with Professor Tissa Vitarana ‎Minister Technology and Research as the Chief Guest and Mr. Lalith Weeratunga, ‎Secretary to HE the President as the Guest of Honour with a gathering of ‎distinguished invitees.‎
This year we received more than 30 papers for evaluation which shows the ‎recognition of NITC among the ICT community. The conference was very well ‎attended on both days and a total of 23 papers were presented by local and foreign ‎speakers during the two-day conference addressing the topics most relevant to “ICT ‎‎2.0. Empowering Sri Lanka to a New Social Order”. A distinguished panel of keynote ‎speakers and other speakers gave a diverse set of insights into the advancements on ‎different ICT frontiers around the world.‎
